With the enactment of the CVBR, it is also expected that there will be an increased demand for information at the international level.Īll key informants also indicated that there is a continued need for the Victims Fund to support jurisdictions so that they can engage in innovative activities through pilot projects that are not supported through their provincial and territorial core funding promote victims issues through Victims Week funding as well as enhance victim services especially in smaller jurisdictions and in the North where the need for support is highest. There continues to be a need for Canada to lead by example and to participate fully at the international level, including through responding to international surveys and requests for information on victim matters. There continues to be a need for PCVI to provide an FPT coordination role to facilitate information sharing, collaboration and research which has an impact on public awareness and the quality and consistency of victim services to ensure there is cohesion in developing legislation that takes into consideration the needs of victims and to ensure that the criminal justice system is responsive towards victims and their needs. Continued Need for the Justice FVSĪll key informants indicated that the Justice FVS continues to be relevant and that the four core activities are the most appropriate levers to ensure that the Justice FVS outcomes are achieved.
